Paris Rue Caumartin .7 - 1900 Prostitution Candles ROCHE & Cie Grand Prix. Made in Belgium .
A very rare item, sometimes referred to as "whorehouse" candles.  They would act as a timing mechanism.  The candle would stand in the designated area as shown in the image and burn.  Once out, time was up.
Includes 24 candles in pull out draw style box.  some tips to candles are gone due to age and decomposition. Many are still intact. Box is in good condition considering its age. Does have minor scuffs on one side so it is reflected in discounted price. has striker on one end, small hole to hold candle.  Images of performers on box are clear and box edges are in good condition. Inspect entire box closely in images.  Draw pull folds open and not sure if that is damage or if that is the way it's designed to open.  See pics.
Free priority shipping included but with a listing this expensive I will place a signature requirement on the shipment.  I, and the buyer, can't risk having this taking off the front stoop or out of a mail box as mail theft becomes increasingly and issue across the country.
