Vintage Lietz Surveyor's Tripod in damn near time capsule condition. The guy I got it from told me that he bought the tripod and a
Lietz Sokkisha Theodolite Transit TM-10C (up for auction separately) new and used them to to verify the layout of one property and put then put them back into their cases and into storage where it has sat until now. The paint on the tripod is bright and shines like new but it has a few light scuffs on it that may or may not come off with a wash. It has some black scuffs around the bottom where it was held together by a bungy cord as the original leather holding strap has become brittle and broken off

Paint is bright and vibrant. Has original top cover, transit attachment piece and plumb bob holder intact. The spikes at the bottom of the feet are nice and clean. The tripod
appears to be in like new condition from what I can see other than the scratches and dings from being used a time or 2 then being moved around in storage over the years. Check out the pictures of the polished head under the cover, it barely shows any scuffs at all in the polished aluminum which seems consistent with the used for one project story. It's a bit like stumbling upon a time capsule in my opinion : ) .
